2 International Folk Festival Meet the tradition, Lovech - Bulgaria, Bulgaria

Festival description: Dance, song and instrumental ensembles are invited to be part in the Festival. The Festival has no competitive character. The purpose is to acquaint the participants and the resort guests with the art, culture, traditions and habits of the participating countries, to create informal contacts between groups and delegations officials, to provide good rest in Bulgaria. The Festival also serves as a platform for promotion and popularisation of contemporary art processes. Our basic tasks are to promote and integrate local contemporary art processes in the international art scene, to collect, update and disseminate information about Bulgarian folklore traditions and contemporary art, as well as to develop an open-minded critically thinking environment, thus stimulating interchange between art and society. Each participating group will be awarded a Honorary Diploma of Festival Participant, valuable souvenir and a gift, DVD with the film on the Festival events. The Festival s activities will be covered in the broadcasts of the bulgarian national and regional TV channels and radio stations, bulgarian newspapers and magazines. Within the framework of the Festival each ensemble is expected to be ready to take part in: - Opening parade in the streets of the city. - Independent concerts - up to 15 - 20 minutes each. - Meeting with the Mayor of Lovech (for art directors and group s officials). The transfer from Sofia is paid additionally. For groups of 25 participants one official is serviced free of charge, for the groups with over 35 participants a second official is serviced free of charge. For participation an application and colour photo of the ensemble should be sent to the organizers not later than April 15th, 2010. The application is guaranteed by the advance payment amounting to 30% of the overall cost. The rest of the sum should be paid not later than June 10th, 2010.
